terracotta with underglaze
Three legs, each curved and hand-built, holding a shallow bowl above the surface. The form reads more like something growing than something made — roots lifting a vessel upward rather than a base supporting it from below.
Built from terracotta and fired twice, with a white underglaze applied and wiped back. The terracotta shows through in warm patches along the legs, where the clay pressed and moved under the hand.
