A hand-built ceramic base takes the form of a river stone — weighted, irregular, worn smooth in places and rough in others, as if it had been shaped by nature rather than by hand. From its neck, a linen shade rises and gathers into a soft, pleated dome, tied off at the top with its own raw, knotted edge.
The contrast is the piece: heavy stone below, light cloth above. The linen's frayed seams and loose knot read as handmade rather than manufactured, catching the light differently depending on the hour. The light is dimmable via an in-line switch on the cord.
