A large jar form in handbuilt black clay. The glaze was watered down and allowed to run freely over the surface, trailing downward in long vertical streams, pooling where the form swells and drawing back where it narrows. The marks of the maker's hands and tools remain across the surface, deliberately unrectified. The result looks less made than found — something geological, something that has been shaped by time rather than intention.
 
At 16 inches tall and 13 inches across, Caudal anchors a room. One of a kind. Made in the studio, Chicago.
