The Ceiba tree grows through the forests of Mexico with a trunk armored in thorns — protective, ancient, quietly ferocious. In Mayan cosmology it is the world tree, the axis between earth and sky. This lamp begins there.
 
The base is handbuilt from clay, each thorn applied by hand, the whole surface finished in a rough stone glaze that mimics the texture of bark, of lava, of something that has been here longer than the room it stands in. The linen shade above it is the light it was always meant to hold.
 
Handbuilt ceramic base. Hand applied thorns. Stone finish glaze. Natural linen shade, 17 inches in diameter. 24 inches tall overall. One of a kind.
