A substantial, hand-built form left exactly as it came together; nothing here was carved in after the fact. The ridged, scale-like surface is the visible record of the building process itself, the marks of hand and clay before smoothing ever happens. Built from dark stoneware, then layered with underglaze that was wiped back by hand, the pigment pools deep into the natural texture and lifts clean off the raised ridges, giving the surface a weathered, almost geological quality.
 
The teardrop form is wide and grounded at the base, narrowing into a small, slightly irregular opening at the top, true to its hand-built construction. No two ridges are identical.
