The fourth in the Strata series, and the boldest. The white slip runs thick and generous here, sweeping across nearly the entire body in broad horizontal strokes that almost overwhelm the terracotta beneath. Almost. The warm red clay still shows through, grounding the piece, reminding you what it's made of.
 
The form is straighter, more architectural than its siblings — wider at the top, tapering slightly to the base, open and confident. Where the others bottle and close, this one receives.
 
Note: as with all unglazed terracotta, this vessel is not watertight. Use with a vessel liner for fresh stems, or display alone.
